Our friend @GaryJk64 highlights the importance of listening to the lived experience of people with disabilities, as most engineers and architects designing our infrastructure will have never done any disability-inclusive training. #GettingNowhere
π As we wrap up this week, a heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support since the launch of "Getting Nowhere." Take a moment to reflect on the impact we've made together and hope for a future that is more accessible for everyone in Ireland ππ #Gratitude#GettingNowhere
The cyclists (who have their full eyesight) referring to your video as "anti-cycling" are a disgrace but I can't believe your charity chose not to include βΏπ ΏοΈ in this campaign to show how new active travel infra has impacted us. What a missed opportunity. #GettingNowhere
ALT Photo showing 2 vacant disability parking bays realigned away from the path wedged between a busy road on Lombard St (drivers-side) and a cycle lane on passenger side. No dropped kerb access to path. No access aisles. Only a buffer strip to protect cyclists from getting "doored".
ALT Photo of my husband looking left and right at a contra flow cycle lane along Clontarf which has white painted text saying "Caution Cyclists" showing no cyclists on lane but 1 flying by on the non-designated path for pedestrians.
A full house for the launch of our #GettingNoWhere campaign in Leinster House as we call for legally binding standards to make transport truly accessible for people with disabilities.

There's more plans for this design around Dublin to incl βΏπ ΏοΈ. It's already been rolled out at Fitzwilliam Pl, Cork, Kildare etc. It's making our access collateral damage & we need support, instead we're ringing up engineers & pleading with them to listen to us #GettingNowhere
ALT Parking protected cycle lane in Newbridge showing a disability parking bay squeezed in between a busy road with oncoming red quarry truck driving over our access aisle & cycle lane on passenger side with bollards dno safe door space.
Is the realignment of our βΏπ ΏοΈ into parking-protected cycle lane design included in your #GettingNowhere campaign since @IrishWheelchair issue blue badge permits? Our space is being squeezed out & we need support otherwise we're on our own chasing up co. councils, it's ridiculous
ALT Lombard St Dublin at the back of Trinity college showing 2 vacant disability parking bays wedged in between a busy road with a coach and bus on drivers side no door room for driver. On passenger side is a cycle lane with a narrow buffer zone to protect cyclists from dooring. After the cycle lane is the path with no dropped kerb access.
