Life during another busy week for a Lord Lieutenant 🙂 with a focus on
#ArmedForcesWeek.
Monday started with a recce with
@RoyalFamily for an upcoming visit. Tuesday saw the
@EastAngliaRFCA AGM, a Making a Difference event convened by
@cambridgebs and an event to say goodbye to the outgoing Chancellor of
@Cambridge_Uni Lord Sainsbury. It was back to the University on Wednesday for the Honorary Graduand ceremony & meeting an amazing group of people - Nobel prize winners, rap philanthropists
@stormzy, composers and phenomenal achievers. In the evening the Lieutenancy hosted a dinner
@QueensCam for our
#ArmedForces partners. Thursday I was at
@CambridgeJBS Advisory Board then privileged to be at Churchill College Founders Feast. Friday I met my counterpart in Suffolk to discuss a cross border event and finished with a fun evening with the USAF
rafalconbury.com/ with an early Independence Day family fun evening ending with fireworks - we also said goodbye to their Commanding Officer who returns to the
#USA
Saturday was a return to our
#ArmedForcesDay2025 with the
@camcitco military fair on Parker’s Piece. The highlight was the Mayor giving the crew of
@hmsprotector the freedom of the city. HMS Protector supports our scientists in the Antarctic & has a great alignment with our City
@scottpolar @BAS_News It was great to meet the crew.
Finally on Sunday I attended evensong
@pborocathedral and a garden party saying thank you to their benefactors.
Another full week filled with amazing people from far and wide but all playing their part in making a difference to our society. thank you to everyone who welcomed me.
