When you write your pitch first, you're forced to answer: - WHO has this problem? - WHY does it matter to them? - WHAT proves you solved it? Your product becomes proof of your pitch. (We did this with Infosys track for our EcoAI project-simple, impactful, gives direction before going in on the idea and it sealed the win.) Just back from @ETHGlobal #Singapore_hackathon! What a wild ride mentoring from the sponsor @airdao_io side🙂 So sharing some tips how to boost your chances of winning a sponsor track👇 1/ Submit early! As soon as you've got an idea and can draft a description, get it on the platform. Be first on the list, before the final rush. Judges are human - they'll likely check out early submissions out of curiosity. 2/ Working > ambitious. Even if it's just 1-2 functional features, that beats a non-functional "spaceship". Non-working projects don't make the cut. 3/ Code quality matters. You can't schmooze judges you don't meet, but clean code speaks volumes. Even if there's no tech expert at the judging table, offsite tech judges have likely already rated projects (code, commits, rule adherence). 4/ Pitch early, pitch fresh. Many tracks end up with strict time limits. We only got through 65% of projects in our 3-4 hour window. Early bird gets the attentive judge! 5/ Great project ≠ automatic win. If submissions are plenty, no-shows for pitching might be considered last or not at all. Make yourself known! 6/ Stay hyped! Yes, everyone's exhausted, but that's no excuse. Show passion for your project (even if things went sideways). A fun, memorable intro trumps a robotic rundown any day.
