We used to argue about which was better, “Star Wars” or “Star Trek.” Now, we argue about which is worse. We used to debate lightsabers vs. phasers. Now, we debate which franchise has done more damage to its own legacy. We used to rank the original trilogy against The Next Generation. Now, we rank the disappointments: the sequel trilogy, Ahsoka, and The Acolyte vs. "Picard" Seasons 1 & 2 and 5 seasons of "Discovery." We used to cosplay our heroes with pride. Now, we're cosplaying as outraged ex-fans. We used to quote lines to inspire. Now, we quote them ironically to dunk on the new canon. We used to build models of the Enterprise or the Millennium Falcon. Now, we build YouTube videos about how both are dead franchises walking. We used to say “May the Force be with you” or “Live long and prosper” like blessings. Now, we say RIP to what they used to represent. The golden age is over. And nobody’s winning the argument anymore. Because both sides lost.

So I have a few thoughts today. After watching New Hope: - Fuck it, Han Shit first, no amount of CGI make that change cringe. - CGI doesn't hold candle to 1977 props used. Many things look extremely fake like Jabba when meeting Han or Stormtroopers riding Dewbacks. It look out of place and breaks immersion. Regarding Final Fantasy VII: Remake - I hate what Square Enix has done with the Final Fantasy Series. Final Fantasy should never ditch Turn Based Combat. - Barret singing Fanfares is nearly as bad as Black Hair Dante putting White Wig in this God forsaken Reboot, it mocks me. - Final Fantasy VII Music was one of the best in gaming, yet someone Remake can't do it right, yes there are familiar tunes, but every single one of them feels off, like someone said "I can do better" and changed it. - I do like additional content with Jess and Avalanche, I like additional content in slums.
