Nothing “tory” about a handup not a handout. It was the same approach the Labour government took under Blair & Brown and it gave families like mine the support they needed to get a better life & make more of it for themselves, knowing there was security from the state when needed

I’m actually grateful I never got married and never had kids when I was younger.
Back then I thought I knew what I wanted, but looking back, I was still learning. Today I’m wiser with my money, wiser with relationships, and wiser with who I allow into my life.
I used to say I’d never get a prenup because I believe in faith, commitment, and marriage for life. I don’t believe in planning for divorce.
But wisdom and faith can coexist.
When God blesses you with assets, businesses, investments, and generational wealth, it’s your responsibility to protect them. Not just for yourself, but for your family and future inheritance.
So yes, I believe in marriage. I believe in commitment. I believe in building together.
But I also believe in protecting what God entrusted me with.
And that’s why I’ll only marry someone who is equally yoked spiritually, mentally, and financially. Not someone looking for a rescue for a handout but a handup
The older I get, the more I realize that timing is everything. Some delays are actually protection.

We did! Altho, I took a handup from the govt & happy to admit it. My bachelors changed my life, the lives of my daughters, sister & nieces, my grandson, & many women who got similar support to me, & hundreds of their kids. I am grateful. We are grateful, not whingy wannabes.
