Dear Journalists Here is a list of 21 individuals who have provided a public submission to the Senate Inquiry on CGT and yet the government have not published those submissions. To put this in perspective they only published six individuals. SIX. This is a gross abuse of their fiduciary duty to have an open an accountable democracy. The true number would be much larger and we have a lower limit of 61 submissions that are missing based on the government's own numbering up to 150 on their website despite only 89 submissions being made public. Despite this cherry picking, the only people that support a change to the CGT on equity and business are hand-picked economists, and the Australian Council of Social Services. I plan to call the Senate Economics Committee again tomorrow and press for answers to 1) why my submission has not been published before the start of hearings; 2) if it has been rejected, on what basis; 3) what criteria were used to determine which pieces were released ahead of the hearings; 4) who the ultimate decision maker on this was.

Labor lied and increased taxes. Now it doesn't want to hear the truth about the impact on our economy. They thought the people would just accept it! Even the New Zealand PM strongly rejected introducing a CGT in his country, branding the levy an "economic wrecking ball".

I also highlighted the insanity of the federal government doubling of capital gains tax to 47%, the highest in the world. I highlighted six Australian startup founders that I met with last week in San Francisco, all building their companies into the US. Before this budget they had mostly planned to come back to Australia. Every single one of them has now reconsidered. Not one is coming home. These six companies are the tip of the iceberg and this is not just a few founders. This is dozens of high-skilled jobs now, potentially thousands of jobs lost in the future, and one of them might just be the next Aconex, Atlassian or Afterpay. And just like that, one disastrous budget later, the innovation machine breaks and we all lose the future…

Remember, you can outright lie, just rebrand it to " I Changed my view" and all is forgiven.

The Labor-controlled Senate inquiry into the CGT increase still hasn't made my submission public. Hearings are on Monday. I can only assume it's because my submission is highly critical of the change, and the process.
