Reviving Tradition, Shaping the Future
A remarkable Two-day Workshop-cum-Onsite Training on Monpa Handmade Paper Production is being held from 21st–22nd March 2026 at the Monpa Handmade Paper Centre, Tsangbu.
This impactful initiative—sponsored by the Directorate of Science & Technology and
@kvicindia, and organized by Kumarappa National Handmade Paper Institute (Jaipur) in collaboration with
#YASW, Tawang—brings together innovation, sustainability, and heritage.
The inaugural session was graced by distinguished dignitaries including
@malinggombu,
@NamgyalAngmo (IAS), Sonam Norzin (ZPM), and
@PiyushG_IFS (IFS), along with experts from
#KNHPI Jaipur
A key highlight was the focus on
#MonShugu (Daphne papyracea)—a locally available natural fibre—promoting eco-friendly, enzyme-based processes to create
#biodegradable,
#sustainable, and high-value paper products for both domestic and global markets.
With expert mentorship from Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain (
#UNIDO), this workshop is a step forward in empowering local artisans, fostering
#greeninnovation, and preserving
#traditional #craftsmanship.
Together, we’re building a
#future where
#sustainability meets skill, and tradition meets global opportunity.
