Being called the “GLUE” has always made me proud ⭐️. Coach put that title on me from the start. Being apart of what CREATES is a role I grew into with pride. Growing up and learning the game looks different for each player. Been coached by the same AAU coach since the age of 5. No team hopping or jumping ship in tough times for me. This gave me consistency in learning full court vision, IQ and the ability to utilize the strengths in every one of my teammates.Thanks to this foundation in my game, big wins are incredibly rewarding no matter how many points I score. My high school has a unique event each year. The ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) to honor top athletes and sports moments in all school sports. This is an invite only event to those nominated in different categories. There is only one middle school category, female and male athlete of the year. I was honored to be awarded female athlete of the year last year in 8th grade. This year I was blessed to have been invited back as a freshman. I was nomintaed in the category of rookie of the year. North Murray has an exceptional group of athletes in all grades! I was awarded the rookie of the year award. With so many talented young women excelling in their sports, I was fortunate to have been able to carry home this award 🙏🏽 We have such an incredible group of teachers, coaches, principles, support staff and our head principal is literally The GOAT! She was court side for our basketball games local and long distance on the road. Dr. Winkler is a mega sports fan and all of us athletes adore her! I couldn’t ask for a better leader and role model. We all play hard for those in the stands supporting us in every moment. I also want to say thank you to all of my family, friends and other parents . Playing hard to make them proud is always in my mind. It’s always taken a village to keep me on the court year round, year after year. All of them have played a role in that process.
