Navigating large hospitals can be overwhelming, especially for
#elders from remote villages or those unfamiliar with the hustle-bustle of city healthcare systems.
To make this journey easier and more dignified, HelpAge India, in partnership with
#GIMS (Government Institute of Medical Sciences), Greater Noida, launched an
#ElderHelpDesk in March 2025.
Every day, nearly 100 elders turn to the Help Desk seeking guidance, care and support.
From
#wheelchair assistance and
#OPD card registrations, to
#doctor appointment bookings, prescription explanations, and guidance to the hospitalโs
#pharmacy where the medicines are available for elders at a heavily discounted rate โthe Elder Help Desk is a lifeline for many.
The team also helps with scheduling follow-up appointments, accompanying elders to get
#diagnostic tests, and helps link them to relevant government schemes.
This initiative is a small step toward a larger goalโ ensuring our elders live a healthy and dignified life.
