امریکی ریاست کیلی فورنیا کی سینیٹ نے پاکستانی کمیونٹی کی خدمات کو سراہتے ہوئے 14 اگست کے حوالے سے ایک اہم قرارداد منظور کر لی۔ یہ قرارداد سینیٹر جوش نیومین نے پیش کی، جس میں پاک امریکا تعلقات اور کیلی فورنیا میں پاکستانی کمیونٹی کے مثبت کردار کا اعتراف کیا گیا ہے۔ پاکستان کے قونصل جنرل عاصم علی خان نے اس قرارداد کو پاکستان اور کیلی فورنیا کے درمیان دوستی کی علامت قرار دیتے ہوئے سینیٹ کے ارکان کا شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے اس قرارداد کی حمایت کی اور کہا کہ اس اقدام سے کیلی فورنیا کے ساتھ تعلقات مزید مضبوط ہوں گے
