New HortTech paper introduces medium-length shoot-targeted pruning strategies (Head-F and Head-V), applied at flowering to regulate return bloom & improve fruiting-shoot quality in apple-highlighting the importance of where and when pruning cuts are made. doi.org/10.21273/HORTTECH058…
ALT Overview of the five medium-length shoots (MLS)-targeted treatments illustrated at flowering time and after leaf fall. The top row shows the appearance of flowering and vegetative MLS at flowering time. The middle row shows the MLS immediately after the treatments—Cont-F, Cont-V, Head-F, Head-V, and Thin-F. The bottom row presents the primary regrowth shoot(s) formed at the distal end of each treated MLS after leaf fall.
#HortTech from the Netherlands.
Earlier this year the #Syngenta Technical Days took place at the @WorldHortiCentr in The #Netherlands.
These days are dedicated to showing our various trials in greenhouse #horticulture for international colleagues and Dutch customers.
Watch the video where we exchange ideas with colleagues and the trials give us proof that we work with great products.
Together we are working on sustainable growing for the future! 🌱

The first chapter of my dissertation is out in @ASHS_Hort HortTech! Take a look if you are interested in gardener perceptions of PNW native plants, with an eye towards pollinator habitat. (And thanks so much to my coauthors, @GailLangellotto and Isabella)

@EStafne Read your excellent piece in HortTech summarizing your innovative yard-fruit series bit.ly/3eProgG, but couldn't find the video clips. Am I imagining that you walked around your yard, describing a diff fruit each week, giving tips on selecting, planting, & care?
#HortTech from New Zealand to the world. feel like a geek seeing this video of @Compacsort new fruit sorting platform. Reminds of the excitement i use to feel walking around the plants dad managed in Africa. Mahi pai Compac! vimeo.com/389955305
The WSSA mtg was an active one for me. I took a poster wrapping up some bindweed work in California (future HortTech paper (fingers crossed)), served on Two committees and joined the board of directors.
1st interview in 1999, it was to win a Craig David’s album. Fast fwd 21 years, this morning I am doing an interview for Radio Nacional de 🇨🇴 to talk NZ #HortTech, @Compacsort and the collaboration between NZ and Colombia in Agribusiness. @HortNZ@NZTEnewselcolombiano.com/negocios/ag…
HortSci and HortTech are going to be open access next year. Slowly working on getting the archive up there. Of course impact factor is referenced as a benefit followed by how they don't like impact factor but admins do.
