Strengthening partnerships for peace and security 🤝🕊️ The Greater Accra Regional @PeaceCouncilGH (GARPC) paid a working visit to the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCSALW) at the Office of the President Annex, Ridge, to deepen collaboration and strengthen institutional partnerships in advancing peace, security, and national development. The engagement provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss areas of mutual interest, including peace education, public sensitization, conflict prevention, arms control, and strategies for promoting safer communities. Speaking during the meeting, Mr. George Oko Mensah, Acting Regional Executive Secretary of GARPC, highlighted the Council’s efforts in promoting peace through education and awareness campaigns in schools, communities, religious institutions, and constituencies. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in achieving sustainable peace and security. Dr. Rashid Gbabmu, Regional Director of NCSALW, commended the initiative and underscored the value of strategic partnerships in enhancing operational efficiency, resource sharing, knowledge exchange, and coordinated interventions to address emerging security challenges.
