@KIASDomains made a very good point. Back in the day you'd only say the last 4 digits of your phone number because the are code was not necessary and everyone in the neighbourhood had the same first 3 numbers. I think you can also draw an analogy to ipv4 ip ranges. Most people dont know, but you can own ipranges. Companies like google own literally a significant percebtage of internet infrastructure like ipv4 ranges or datacenters and cable infrastructure. Having a 4 digit ens could be seen like a very wide ip range. We'll see 🤷‍♀️

so i said in my queries above... Look for TCP 135 that is indeed where the WMI journey starts! but when we use impacket etc. it uses: TCP 135 (WMI) TCP 445 (CIFS/SMB/DCE/) and more ports etc. Now you can also see it uses: NEGOTIATE you can stop it using SMB by using: -nooutput you can also use kerbos by using: -k now with a domain controller you can restrict TCP 135 inbound (totally!) or you could have a host based firewall rule to only allow remote admin ports from specific users/machines/ipranges etc.
