Exciting News! We're thrilled to announce that our project, the Global Network of Young Persons with Disabilities (
@gnypwd ) Accessible Connect platform, has been shortlisted as a semi-finalist in the Solve -
@SolveMIT - Learning for Civic Action Challenge. A step closer to realizing our dream of a more inclusive world.
This prestigious recognition is a testament to our commitment to enabling young people with disabilities to take meaningful civic action in their communities. Addressing barriers such as lack of representation, access to technology, and fundamental human rights like education, employment, bodily autonomy, and sexual and reproductive rights is not just our mission - it's our passion.
Our solution, the GNYPWD Accessible Connect platform, stands out in its ability to empower learners to bridge civic knowledge with action, promote understanding of real-world problems, facilitate network formation, and organise collective action plans. But it's not just about the now - we're helping to explore and pave the way for prosocial careers too.
While we're hoping to win, our priority is and always will be to disrupt barriers to active participation and fulfilment of the human rights of young persons with disabilities.
Let's celebrate this milestone as we continue to fight for a more inclusive, accessible future. Onwards and upwards!
