Inspired and energized after Day 1 at the
@IndSector National Summit in Atlanta, connecting with new colleagues who are championing social impact.
Courtney English, Chief of Staff for the
@CityofAtlanta, reminded us that we must be sellers of hope — especially now, when the social impact sector isn’t just filling gaps, but standing as the cornerstone of community infrastructure and innovation.
Dr. Rashawn Ray, Vice President and Executive Director of
@AIRInforms, and Dr. Akilah Watkins, President and CEO of Independent Sector, challenged us to think deeply about what it means to lead with equity: 💬 “When they go low, we go local.”
We must move from being equity learners to equity advocates, recognizing that social interactions add up to social sediment.
Their call to action resonated:
• How do we prevent negative or uneven sediment from forming?
• How do we become equity brokers who courageously push for the changes our communities deserve?
Excited to continue the conversation on Day 2 on ways to be brave, intentional, and hopeful in our pursuit of a better, more equitable world.
