We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our incredible community of supporters of Amani - Community Health Partners Uganda
This month marks the official start of our very first AGYW (Adolescent Girls and Young Women) Skilling Center in Kikondo fishing community, Buikwe District, right along the River Nile in Uganda. This milestone has been made possible because of your generosity and belief in our mission.
Over the next three months, we will bring together 50 young women from Jinja and Buikwe to equip them with practical, life-changing skills.
The skills include computer literacy, tailoring, soft skills, financial literacy, business development, as well as literacy and numeracy. We are also integrating learning around gender equity and climate resilience, including recycling practices.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to empower these young women with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to earn income, support their families, and invest in essential needs like education for their children.
When young women are economically empowered, they are better able to make independent and informed decisions, reducing vulnerabilities that often expose them to multiple partners or increased risk of
#HIV.
For those already living with
#HIV, this program offers a pathway to dignity and resilience, enabling them to meet their basic needs and care for their children with greater stability and hope.
Beyond economic empowerment, we are equally excited about building confidence, agency, and a strong sense of belonging—because we know the social impact is just as transformative.
We are glad to share with you a few photos of our first training center..from its original color to some new painting. Over the coming few days, it will fully be painted.
We will be sharing a beautiful moments to share with you our program implementation progress & updates.
Thank you for walking this journey with us. The impact is yours as much as it is ours. 💛
