California prosecutes ordinary candidates for residency fraud.
But when members of Congress have conflicting voter, mortgage, and tax records, California gives them a legal presumption.
That is not protection.
That is interference — and it raises a serious 14th Amendment Equal Protection problem.
Before Adam Schiff became the headline, I filed this issue in court in 2021 involving Doris Matsui. California already had notice that elected officials were using California voter files while other sworn records raised serious questions about residency, domicile, mortgage occupancy, and tax claims.
Now the same issue is exploding nationally.
Axios just reported that ICE/HSI investigators obtained named voter files from local election officials in election-related investigations.
So here is the question California must answer:
Why should ordinary voters, local candidates, and private citizens be investigated or prosecuted over residency questions — while members of Congress and state legislators receive a special domicile presumption under California Elections Code § 2026?
A voter file does not erase a notarized mortgage affidavit.
A California presumption does not rewrite sworn statements made to banks, underwriters, tax authorities, or federal agencies.
And state law cannot interfere with federal review of conflicting residency records.

Doris Matsui.
Eric Swalwell.
Every elected official with conflicting voter, mortgage, tax, occupancy, or residency records should face the same scrutiny ordinary Californians would face.
Bill Essayli, DOJ, and President Trump should investigate whether California election law is being used to interfere with equal enforcement and shield the political class from accountability.
No special rules.
No political exemptions.
No one above the law.

The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome.
Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up?
The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.
