I don't remember the entire context but, when the JetPrivilege to Intermiles transition happened, I'd taken the opportunity to toot my own hornπ.

It look longer than expected but Jet Airways has finally taken the advice of dozens of marketing professionals - me included - to rebrand its Jet Privilege / JPMiles loyalty program (to InterMiles).

When 9W was alive, the conversion rate was pretty good. You could get a domestic flight for 6-10K miles. And business for double that. When 9W died, the loyalty program didn't because it was a separate company. They rebranded as Intermiles and their offerings were between 1/4th to 1/6th the value of what 9W offered.

My wife and I lost close to 400K miles each when 9W died. In the end we burnt it all for Β’/$ through the Intermiles thing. Since then I've kept all my miles in the credit card side rather than transfer it to the airline/hotel program.
Just discovered that I've let 500,000 miles expire on one of my frequent flier accounts. Totally gutted.

The best thing is Intermiles (ASV at 5% discount) 10% discount at Amazon.
But not everyone would have IM.
Now this CRED 2X discount glitch is giving MMT vouchers (generic; works for trains, bus, flights) at 13% discount π₯
And it gets better, in a way: Amazon has only 1k vouchers. This can be irritating.
Whereas you can buy for a higher amount here! π

I buy through Intermiles, getting a 5% discount. Used M4B on AEP month (14% miles) but Atlas can also give 10% miles.
Otherwise use your best card with multipliers.

It shows 8%, but it is actually at 10% discount.
MMT charges Rs 40 agent fees. IRCTC charges 2.1% fees for Amazon wallet but still with the discounts, it is worth booking on MMT.

If you saw that on your gold coin report, would you panic?
One follower recently exchanged a coin at Tanishq.
The coin was from Kalamandir and the initial machine test showed just 97.62% purity.
After melting and testing, the same coin came at 99.63%.
That's a difference of over 2%.
I see similar complaints very frequently with PNG Vedani rings as well, where machine readings come lower than expected purity levels.
The issue? Karat machines can sometimes give misleading readings on coins, rings and jewellery depending on the design and testing conditions.
That's why the most reliable way to verify purity is still a melt test.
So the next time you get a surprisingly low purity reading, don't rush to conclusions.
Verify it properly first.
