A lot of #SETIshorts videos about #JWST are coming out on the @SETIInstitute YT. Many of these interviews were captured by @AllPlanets during the "First Science Results from JWST" #JWSTFirstScience conference back in December 2022 @stsci @SpaceTelescope youtube.com/@SETIInstitute

VIDEO: buff.ly/3DdAMI4 #SETIShorts: Can JWST Take Pictures of Exoplanets ft. Julien Girard We caught up with Julien Girard, @djulik, a scientist at @stsci in Baltimore, and asked him about how we can use @NASAWebb to take pictures of #exoplanets.

Difficult decisions will have to be taken by our community soon. It’s clear the cost of those meetings is too high for most researcher budgets. Maybe we need to change the way do those meetings. We had a very valuable and exciting #JWSTFirstScience meeting for 1/4 of the cost.
$857 for AAS winter meeting registration fee. $199 for AAS membership $1000 flights $1000 hotel food / per diem ground transport = probably my last AAS meeting I don't think I can continue to justify this in the future. I suggest AAS spend more effort to reduce costs.
