Je veux aussi saluer @PierreMarcolini, à l’origine de cette magnifique initiative.
Elle nous touche toutes et tous. Nous pensons évidemment aux enfants malades et à leurs familles, mais aussi à celles et ceux qui se battent chaque jour à leurs côtés.
On ne doit d’ailleurs jamais oublier de remercier l’ensemble des professionnels de la santé, notamment dans nos hôpitaux bruxellois. Leur travail, souvent discret mais essentiel, permet chaque jour de sauver des vies et d’accompagner les patients et leurs familles dans des moments décisifs.
En complément de l’action des pouvoirs publics, l’Éclair Day permet de financer directement la recherche contre les cancers pédiatriques. Les fonds récoltés soutiennent des projets scientifiques qui cherchent à mieux comprendre ces maladies, à développer de nouveaux traitements et à améliorer les chances de guérison des enfants.
En Belgique, ces moyens contribuent notamment aux projets soutenus par la KickCancer Foundation, qui finance la recherche sur les cancers pédiatriques en Europe et dans le monde.
