lmao sounds great man. can't wait for you to figure out how to fill a budget hole from the smaller lgdf pool for chicago due to losing not just kmb 300 r and mars 10k roles by moving hq to their nj offices. that in and of itself is 90M in income tax for the state you'd be short

✅LGDF funding remains at 6.47%. Thanks to strong municipal advocacy and support from legislators, the State Fiscal Year 2027 state budget rejected a proposed reduction to the Local Government Distributive Fund. Protecting local revenues means protecting essential services in communities across Illinois. 🔗Learn more in IML’s 2026 End of Session Summary at iml.org/sessionsummary. LGDF will remain at 6.47% after Gov. Pritzker initially proposed lowering it. That should be welcome news for municipalities. The inflationary increase of 1.3 cents on the state's motor fuel tax will be paused.

.@GovPritzker’s proposed reductions to the Local Government Distributive Fund would hurt communities like the @VillageofElburn and towns all across Illinois. When Springfield cuts LGDF funding, it impacts the services residents rely on every single day: 🚔 Public Safety 🚧 Infrastructure 🏘️ Community Services Local governments shouldn’t be forced to do more with less while families are already dealing with rising costs. These funds help communities maintain roads, support police and fire protection, and invest in the services that keep our towns strong. Tell Governor Pritzker to stop hurting towns like Elburn and say NO to LGDF reductions. Our communities deserve better. #twill #ElburnIL 🇺🇸

Three years since Mayor Brandon Johnson’s first official Springfield trip (and my first and last horse shoe …) now, Johnson ends two day visit w/ similar LGDF ask while also seeking opening to kill the Bears Arlington Heights bill, per @JeremyGorner: chicagotribune.com/2026/05/0…

Brandon Johnson makes his first address to Springfield as mayor-elect, saying it’s a “new day” for Chicago and Illinois and the end to the “zero sum game” of Chicago vs rest of state: “No one has to lose at the expense of someone winning. There is more than enough for everybody”

Always good to welcome my friend, @ChicagosMayor Brandon Johnson, back to Springfield and the People’s House. We had a productive conversation about the Mayor’s legislative agenda and the importance of protecting LGDF so our local governments can continue delivering the services families count on every day. Chicago and Illinois succeed when we work together — city and state, partners in progress. That’s how we move Illinois forward. Winners do the work!

Here’s Mayor Brandon Johnson’s two-pager on revenue asks from Springfield. Of note, specific taxes he has in mind should Chicago secure home rule authority: digital ads, delivery fees, payroll expenses and more. Also lobbying for LGDF, killing Bears Arlington Heights bill
Mayor Brandon Johnson goes to Springfield. Says he’s joining other mayors to lobby for full restoration of LGDF. Pursing progressive revenue via granting home rule authority allowing Chicago to levy digital ad tax

Thank you to State Representative @DanUgaste, State Representative @RepSanalitro, State Representative @NicoleLaHa, and State Representative @JeffKeicher for speaking out about the growing property tax problem in Illinois and standing up for local municipalities that are being forced to raise costs because of regulations handed down from Springfield. Communities like the @VillageofElburn work hard to provide essential services while keeping taxes as low as possible for residents. One major way to help stop property taxes from continuing to rise is to stop @GovPritzker’s push to lower the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF). These funds help local municipalities pay for public safety, infrastructure, road maintenance, and other essential services without having to rely even more on local property taxes. When Springfield cuts funding to local governments, the burden doesn’t disappear, it gets pushed onto local taxpayers. Illinois families deserve relief, and our communities deserve support, not more property tax hikes, unfunded mandates, and reduced state funding. #twill
We're fighting for property tax relief in Illinois. House Republicans have proposed numerous measures to tackle this most pressing issue for working families. Our proposals include: ☑️ HB 9 (Ugaste) - Provides property tax relief to homeowners ☑️ HB 5611 and HB 5612 (Weaver) - Provides property tax relief by reinvesting funds from paid bonds ☑️ HB 2543 (Sosnowski) - Forces taxing bodies to ask voters for approval ☑️ HB 1024 (Cabello) - Mandates sunsets for tax referenda ☑️ HB 5550 (Fritts) - Increases notice for tax increases Illinois homeowners deserve relief along with a more transparent and predictable property tax system. #twill

Local Government Distributive Fund cuts = fewer resources for Illinois communities. @IMLLeague's infographic highlights the impact of the proposed State Fiscal Year 2027 budget: 🔸$60M reduction statewide 🔸~$509K loss per House district 🔸~$1.0M loss per Senate district These cuts directly affect funding for essential services and infrastructure. IML urges local officials to contact their legislators and oppose any reduction to LGDF. Protect Your District. Reject the Cuts. @HouseDemsIL @ilhousegop @ILSenateGOP @ILSenDems 🔗Learn more at iml.org/lgdf.

Homer Glen Mayor @Cneitzketroike made it clear during her campaign for Lieutenant Governor — unfunded mandates are crushing local municipalities. We’ve felt that right here in the @VillageofElburn. Now here we are. @GovPritzker is looking to make things even worse by reducing the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF). Let’s be honest about what that means: ➡️ Less funding for police and fire protection ➡️ Less investment in roads and infrastructure ➡️ Cuts to essential local services that our communities rely on every day And when that money disappears, municipalities are left with only one option… 👉🏻 Raise YOUR taxes to make up the difference. This isn’t responsible governing — it’s shifting the burden onto local communities while trying to patch together a broken state budget. Illinois families are already stretched thin. Local governments are already dealing with mandates handed down from Springfield. Governor Pritzker, stop playing games with taxpayer money. Leave the LGDF alone. #twill #ElburnIL 🇺🇸
