She’s pretending like bargaining to give students the least amount in the nation hasn’t cost taxpayers billions, caused LAUSD’s soon to be massive teacher layoffs, AND caused parents to hate UTLA’s fucking guts isn’t her fault 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My heart aches seeing how things continue to unravel in sports reporting, seeing many people I respect getting forced out either by layoffs or not being able to cut it financially. Those of us who work our tails off and create a quality product deserve to be able to support our families. We provide information that most people who follow sports want. Asking for a few dollars a month from individual subscribers shouldn’t feel like pleading at someone’s door begging for money. But a lot of times, that’s exactly how it feels. It makes you feel like you have no real value. People want your content, but not if they have to sacrifice a cup of Starbucks or a couple sodas every month. That’s the reality many of us reporters face daily. I’ve been blessed to be able to continue doing what I love. But there are definitely days where it feels futile. There are days on the other end of the spectrum too, where rare glimpses of hope shine down and you feel like you still can make it on your own. If you love sports - or reporting in general - please keep those who do the ground work in mind. They all deserve better in a world that has been shifted largely against them, much of it out of their control.

Pull up Kyrie stats over 9 layoffs season including the yr they beat the 73-9 warriors doen 3-1. Thrn while you are at it pull out the film. Then tell me how many times did Brunson yook 22 fgas to get 30pts and compare that to Kyrie. There is more to bb than scoring.

This conveniently glosses over the fact that domestic workers are targeted more on layoffs over H-1Bs, and that several workers have talked about arbitrary deadlines, poor safety conditions, and chaotic management that mandates longer hours.

🗞️ @RobinhoodApp is cutting ~10% of its workforce to flatten its structure and increase what CEO Vlad Tenev called "talent density". its first major layoffs since 2023. The cuts come despite Robinhood reporting Q1 net income of $346mn on $1.07bn revenue.

Yeah, for real, this dude is like: "xbox is evil for doing all of this, the devs are not gonna trust them anymore"; Bungie has lots of layoffs, most likely more to come and potentially getting shut down, but according to tweak town sony has nothing to do with that, lmao.

The Witcher devs blocking and hiding comments isn't surprising because like the WESTERN industry earning layoffs they can't help force ugly women. Fable, God of Wars Wife, & Intergalactic are going to make Dragon Age Veilguard seem like a masterpiece

Will you keep the same energy when Sony does their own layoffs and closures? Because that is coming too.

You'll just accelerate layoffs and then offshoring to India and Philippines. That's it. Aussie jobs are on the line thanks to idiotic laws like this!

Xbox's next layoffs. There are good reasons to suspect that Blizzard might be hit in this year's round of Xbox layoffs: - The deal cost $69 Billion as part of Activision/Blizzard. (As comparison, MS bought all of Nokia for 7.6B). - When asked about the acquisition, she hedged "..it's hard to say how to think about these decisions." - They are still carrying intangibles for this on their books, for 25 years. It costs them 3B a year in amortization expense. - Blizzard shipped Diablo 4 in 2023. There were no major Blizzard announcements at the XBOX show, which was odd. - Blizzard is not on the list of the doubling down of investments rumored. - Xbox could save a lot of accounting money if they wrote down the value of Blizzard via impairment, the same way Sony saved themselves from the disastrous 3.6B dollar Bungie acquisition. Carrying 3B a year in accounting deadweight is weighing down profits for the whole division, which Asha said was only 3%. If they did layoffs and impairment to write down the value of the studio, they could instantly double their profit margin. The could keep the studio, trim it way back, and write down the rest. A CEO looking at this would seriously consider it when XBOX is on it's last legs as it stands today.
