I had a chance to he a community judge for the NCFCA and listen to amazing students conduct impromptu speeches and debates. These students did such an amazing job. They challenged the idea, and didn’t attack the person They provided direct answers, and held one another to account when a question wasn’t asked. It was such an honor to be part of this experience. How is it that high school students are willing to debate one another but you aren’t willing to debate anyone?? What we have seen this week in Canberra is not a new phenomenon. What we saw in December in Macquarie Street is not a new phenomenon. Liberal and Labor may oppose each other on some things, but when it comes to over taxing you and taking your rights they have always been on the same page. When Minns passed his laws which attacked free speech, Law Abiding Firearms Owners and the right to protest it passed 59-15, that is with Liberal/National support. When Albo passed his laws which attacked Law Abiding Firearms Owners and free speech all but 7 members of the House of Representatives voted for them, meaning they passed with Liberal/National support. The Libertarian Party has never voted for an increase in taxes or a decrease in liberty. Day 9: Debate Challenge. Legislate with impact, not good talking points. I saw a post yesterday about a co-sponsored bill with a Democrat from Illinois. The “Vet Connect Act”. The act will direct the Veterans Administration to create an online portal managed by the VA for veterans to “reconnect” with other veterans. So rather than allocating money to reform the VA by reforming the Veterans choice program, or supporting veterans to see local doctors, or fixing the broken VA health care process, the bill will spend money on something private veteran non-profits already do extremely well.
