Behind every meaningful movement are individuals courageous enough to ask bigger questions. How do we move beyond pregnancy-centred care to truly embrace a life-course approach to women's health? How do we ensure that science, policy, and clinical practice reflect the realities of women's lives—not just during pregnancy, but across every stage of life? How do we address the fact that cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death among women globally, yet continues to be under-recognised, under-diagnosed, and under-treated? How do we shift the conversation from maternal survival to lifelong cardiovascular health, wellbeing, and resilience? Honoured to stand alongside brilliant colleagues, thought leaders, and advocates committed to shaping that future. Because women's health was never just about the womb. It has always been about the whole woman—her heart, her health, and her journey across the life course. #BeyondTheWomb #WomensHeartHealth #CardiovascularDisease #LifeCourseHealth #CardioObstetrics 🫀❤️🌍

A girl born in Africa today begins her cardiovascular journey long before her first clinic visit. In childhood nutrition. In chronic stress. In environmental exposure. In pregnancy. In obesity, hypertension, HIV, diabetes, inflammation, and menopause. The heart remembers exposure. A hypertensive pregnancy at 28 may become HFpEF at 52. Gestational diabetes may become premature vascular disease years later. Yet women’s cardiovascular care is still too often approached episodically — as though pregnancy, menopause, and cardiometabolic disease are separate conversations. They are not. They are chapters of the same cardiovascular story. The future of women’s heart health must become: longitudinal. sex-specific. prevention-focused. and contextually African. Because women do not experience cardiovascular risk in isolated moments. They live it across the entire life course. #WomensHeartHealth #LifeCourseHealth #CardioObstetrics #AfricanCardiology #HFpEF #WomenInCardiology #Heartwork @kenyacardiacs @WomenAs1 @worldheartfed

To help amplify a shared vision of global health and disease prevention, @INDIACCDC partners with the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, @SRIHER_Official (Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research) and @CHART_TSB to advance national conversation on exposomes. As part of this collaboration, the Global Exposome Forum is launching a Virtual Town Hall on "Understanding Exposomics for Lifecourse Health and Ageing: An Indian perspective for a Viksit Bharat". Register and join us this May 28th at 3:30 PM IST. The Global Exposome Forum is an international coalition of regional governments, multi-national institutions, NGOs, and research collaboratives. GEF exists in response to the current moment in which exposomics is reaching full scientific maturity and now requires political and social investment and acceptance to make impact and radically redefine public health. By bringing science, policy, and society into conversation, the Forum supports a more coordinated, synchronous, truly global approach to advancing exposomic research and positive impact on health and society.
