One of his best albums, although I find “Me and My Woman” tiresome. HQ with Hallucinating Light is superb too, alongside Lifemask, Valentine and Flat, Baroque. Flashes is a great live album for this era.

#NowPlaying Roy Harper • Lifemask (1973) This album has always been a bit difficult to grasp, because it tries to say a lot but still leaves so much unsaid. It sounds occasionally like a fight for life. A struggle against oblivion. Yet it carries a dreamy euphoria on it.
