As it stands, political parties are so concerned with the amount of power they have, that they favour that over local representation. When elected as a County Councillor, there should be no representation privileges for those who are part of bigger parties. All councilors should be able to attend, debate and vote in all the committee meetings that they are able to. Local politics is about local needs and not national representation.
