Humpbacks have moved a little further out from #Ullapool, in behind Isle Martin, but still usy and feeding, alongwith common dolphns and porpoises. Sea birds caprturing bigger fish, suspect herring.
That's 18 days we've seen them now.

This is a maerl bed. A pink coralline algae that grows at 1 millimetre per year, and can form a thick crust on the seabed that supports a huge array of marine life. It’s inside one of Scotland’s Marine Protected Areas where scallop dredging is restricted.

Personally, I've found those slashed open by trawlers who don't like to repair nets after dragging them around looked in pretty bad shape too. You keep trying your best but our MPA is working, no local boats have gone out of business and seas are healthiest for years. #MPAsWork

Great to see that wonderful #seagrass is thriving north of the Queen's Pier in the wonderful Ramsey Bay Marine Nature Reserve & producing seed. Such an important habitat for biodiversity, fisheries, coastal protection and #climate change.

Ramsey Marine Nature Reserve gov.im/about-the-government/… is the #isleofman first MNR & a jewel of our @BiosphereIOM Diving in Ramsey Bay yesterday evening it was good to see large areas of healthy #seagrass north of Queen’s Pier, with many bearing seed #bluecarbon #manxnature 🌱🇮🇲
