The adjournment resolution passed by a standing vote #MethodistConf (That means we’re done for the next year - so if you’ve been wondering what I’ve been (t)wittering on about for the last week, don’t worry, I’m done now!
The @MethodistGB is asking "how should we become a justice seeking Church?” and invited Jenny Sinclair of @T4CG to design 3 audio bible study reflections to challenge and inspire their conference on this theme.

“We can help and resource young people to be agents of change in our world."
The Conference has heard the voices of children and young people asking the Church to tackle issues of justice and to support their journey of discipleship.

Last night we had a great time at A Neurodivergent Way of Life, a #methodistconf fringe event.
Thank you to all the organisations and individuals who have helped us make this happen, especially to @LCILeeds, The Yorkshire West District, and @MethodistGB.
The Methodist Conference has elected Revd Richard Andrew
to serve as President and Matt Forsyth to serve as Vice-President, starting their year of office when the Representative Session of the Methodist Conference opens in Telford in June 2025 #MethodistConf
ALT White text on teal background reads 'Revd Richard Andrew to serve as President and Matt Forsyth to serve as Vice-President' with photos of Revd Richard and Matt in circle shapes above the text. Methodist logo in the bottom right corner.
I’m not sure one booking can dictate what brand of tea and coffee the booked venue should serve. I wonder if the conference should look wider and choose their venues more carefully and not use for example a military museum as a venue??? #MethodistConf
I was a junior steward and for many years dragged my sometimes reluctant mother to church because I had to be there. Now when I’m on vestry duty I rope in the youngsters who really love to help #methodistconf
I’m getting older but the ways I engaged as a young person made me the person I am today. I will forever be grateful to the Church and to those individuals who invested in me. So hearing how that is continuing today is wonderful #methodistconf
The early middle aged (those no longer young adults!) often have strong opinions on the work with children and young people, it is interesting to hear a response from the youth president to that #methodistconf
Bible study at #methodistconf challenging the language we use and the power imbalance it perpetuates. When we talk of the marginalised and of community development work, we disempower people, and we alienate those among US are living in poverty.
I'm saddened that we're still talking about 'the poor' and 'poor communities' as though 'they' are outside the church and outside of the Conference. Each time people are othered in this way, the church excludes its own people. #Methodistconf
