And the results are impressive. 🔗 PCCT-based virtual monoenergetic imaging (VMI) at 50 keV delivered the best performance overall. 🔍 Key findings ⭐ 50 keV VMI = optimal sweet spot Best balance between image noise, sharpness, and contrast-to-noise ratio. 🎯 High diagnostic accuracy Per-segment accuracy reached 95.9%, with strong MRI agreement (κ = 0.86). 🧩 Reliable scar pattern detection Excellent detection of subepicardial, patchy, transmural, and subendocardial LIE patterns. 🔬 Superior iodine contrast PCCT’s spectral capabilities boost iodine-based tissue characterization beyond conventional CT. 🧠 Why it matters LGE-MRI remains the reference for fibrosis and scar imaging—but it’s not always available, especially in acute settings or for patients with: - implanted devices - severe claustrophobia - unstable conditions - PCCT offers a fast, robust, high-resolution alternative for tissue characterization with true multienergy dataand fewer artifacts. 🚨 Clinical impact This study confirms that PCCT can accurately characterize myocardial damage, bringing us closer to a “one-stop-shop” cardiac CT: ➡️ Coronary arteries myocardial viability in a single scan.
