Family is the most important — trust me, I watched “Fast and Furious”!
God, family, company. In that order.
But…
I only feel safe in the Netherlands.
I only feel loved in Poland.
I only feel inspired in the US.
I mostly work online.
In these conditions, I travel all year long.
Looking for home is hard, especially at a point where, in a way, you have become a multicultural person.
I literally stopped unpacking my suitcases as I know I will be soon packing them again.
Instead of mentally anchoring myself at one location I can call home, I had to grow values and priorities that — altogether, as a package — would become a form of a (mobile) home.
It makes it even more special whenever I have the chance to see them in person on my way.
This summer, I reconnected with multiple members of my extended family. It was one of my best little vacation ever!
One good side of the situation is: we see each other rarely, which prompted me to learn how to pay full attention to my relatives once they are around and talk to them for real instead of small talking.
They might not understand what “an online career incubator” might be, but they listen and send good karma my way. And vice versa. It’s enough to feel stronger and safer.
