On December 19, 2025, the Bank of Ghana celebrated its annual Nine Lessons, Carols and Thanksgiving Service at the Bank Square. Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams led the Exhortation Session, encouraging staff and guests to cultivate gratitude. "Showing gratitude guarantees progress in life," he said.
Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama thanked staff for their hard work and announced new policy directions for 2026. "This year, staff across the Bank continued to show commitment and a strong sense of responsibility. From policy to supervision, from markets to payments, from administration to security, every role mattered. Every contribution counted," he said.
Looking ahead, Governor Asiama highlighted key focus areas:
- Strengthening operations and improving efficiency through digital tools, data, and smarter processes
- Developing a People Strategy to support and develop staff, focusing on skills development, leadership, culture, and wellbeing
- Strengthening subsidiaries from 2026
"Systems, laws, and frameworks only work because people make them work," he emphasised.
