Over the last year it has sortof dawned on me that Bitcoin governance is not this perfectly efficient free market converging like the price of a bag of potato chips.
Even for holders of Bitcoin and noderunners, they still would like to offload the responsibility of keeping up with all the intricacies and minutia of software upgrades.
"Let the nerds figure it out" as @Breedlove22 put it.
So to get all the bitcoiners that are now engaged in the spam war, to learn about all the different aspects of this issue, is not a small feat.
It takes a long time, and it takes persistant effort from people knowledgable and willing to push it forward.
Which is why I have been saying:
"BIP-110 got motion"
You can't take this energy for granted.
People need to stop deferring to @giacomozucco for their opinions on BIP110. His stance is one long rationalization for inaction in a circumstance where it's deeply needed.

Let’s grant that you’re trying to be pragmatic with how you feel Bitcoin should evolve. What’s concerning is the number of lies/half-truths you’ve shared to further your cause.
Noderunners want to do everything in their power to LIMIT spam. How can you argue against THAT?
you can nobble your nodes if you want.
you can fork off and find out if you want.
or write a sternly worded letter to the internet.
you can make silly analogies.
but you can't censor bitcoin as
we run the nodes.
we are the tolerant minority.
we keep bitcoin censorship resistant.

I guess he meant "core principles", not "Bitcoin core". However, it still misses the point. The whole thing is that *we* (the noderunners) are Bitcoin. So if we don't do anything, nothing changes. Bitcoin without its users will do no such thing.
