The band was ultimately banned in the US after Redbone released “We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee” in 1973.
The song was inspired by the horrific massacre of the Lakota Sioux by the US military in 1890, and many radio stations banned or refused to play the song or any music by the band as a result

I’ve had this discussion with some here on Twitter. I was like did they stop teaching #onedroprule in high school history after the 80’s? Cause that’s when I learned. It started around 1600’s. Then formally became law in 1800’s. This is the same mess they do with Meghan Markle.
