Auto-vectorization of your Java code on RISC V chips ?!?
That is what @snatverk is looking into implementing in TornadoVM - as explained in this article. It's quite exciting, actually ☺️
jjfumero.github.io/posts/202…
GPU programming in Java is already possible via TornadoVM - and in the future with project Babylon which is an official project within the Java work group.

A 3-day Training cum Workshop on High-Performance Computing (HPC) Technologies was organized at S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS), Kolkata, under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM), beginning on 9th December 2024. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to advanced HPC tools and technologies that are essential for modern scientific and research applications.
A total of 45 science-enthusiastic students from five prominent academic and research institutions participated: SNBNCBS, IISER Kolkata, IICB, Bose Institute and SINP
Expert resource personnel from CDAC Pune (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) were invited to provide training and guidance on HPC technologies, focusing on parallel programming, performance optimization, and the use of specialized computing tools for scientific research.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to gain hands-on experience with HPC systems, enhance their computational skills, and collaborate with peers from different research backgrounds.
