What is E20?
E20 = Petrol mixed with 20% ethanol.
India achieved near-nationwide E20 rollout years earlier than expected.
Govt’s main goals: • Reduce oil imports • Improve energy security • Support farmers • Build a domestic biofuel industry • Reduce some emissions
Now India is also discussing future E85/E100 flex-fuel systems.
The strongest arguments IN FAVOR of E20:

Reality?
E20 is neither a miracle nor a disaster.
It’s mainly: • an energy-security policy • an agricultural-industrial policy • a transition fuel strategy
