🧠 Friday Slack Fact coming in hot like my coffee this morning!
Yesterday I shared a few of the latest Slack updates, and today I want to talk about what actually matters for admins. Don't think about this as just another feature drop or update, take a moment and think about the path these updates are walking us down and what that could mean for your role.
👀 What I'm seeing across these updates:
👉 More work is happening inside Slack
👉 AI is becoming embedded in everyday workflows
👉 Context and actions are moving closer to where conversations happen
🧐 A few examples:
- AI responses in Workflow Builder = automation is getting smarter and more dynamic
- Slackbot context awareness = the system is starting to understand how people actually work
- Email calendar actions = less switching between tools, more execution in one place AND Slackbot doing instead of just showing
On the surface, these look like productivity upgrades. What they actually signal is another shift in the role of the admin.
Salesforce still holds the data.
Slack is increasingly where work is happening AND where the connection to other systems and agents is emerging.
Which means admins are now responsible for:
- Designing how work flows across systems
- Creating structure and clarity in Slack
- Defining guardrails for automation and AI
The tools are getting more powerful. That also means how you set them up matters more than ever. Intentionality matters even more in the AI era.
⚡ If you’re an admin, this is one of those moments where the role is not-so-quietly expanding.
Are you noticing the shift yet, and how is it starting to impact your role?
