「無自覚」ピューター, 樹脂, レジン　200×200×700mm 近年、私的な制裁が増えている。現実でもSNS でも、一度罪を疑われると、たとえ無実でも社会復帰はほぼ不可能だ。「罪刑均衡の原則」というものがある。これは、判決を下す際に事件の不法性と犯人の責任を考慮し、それに見合った罰を与えるという原則だ。しかし、現状では個人による攻撃が度を越し、この原則が崩れてしまっている。人々は、社会的な「正義」を名目に、無自覚に他者を攻撃している。彼らは、攻撃が正当な行動であると信じて疑わないが、その結果、破壊的な行動を取っていることに気づいていない。テミス像は正義の象徴である。天秤は公平・平等を、剣は力を意味し、どちらも欠けてはならない。目隠しは公正を示すが、かつては不当な判決が多かったため、皮肉を込めた解釈も存在した。しかし現代では、このテミス像そのものが壊されつつあるのではないか。剣は多くの人々に無自覚に奪われ、天秤もまた彼らの手によって破壊されつつある。無自覚な攻撃が、社会全体に蔓延しているのだ。そんな中、テミス像は目隠しをしたまま、堂々と正面を向いている。自らが破壊されつつあることにも目を背けながら。「一度悪人と見なされたら総攻撃すべき」という風潮を、今こそ見直すべきだ。そして、社会全体としてもこの現実を直視し、法整備を進めるべきである。 "Unaware" Pewter, resin, epoxy resin 200×200×700mm Private acts of punishment are rising. In the real world, on social media — once suspicion falls, even the innocent find no way back. There is a principle: that punishment must be weighed against the crime, that judgment must be fair and proportionate. But that balance is crumbling. Individuals now attack with no restraint, forgetting the principle, forgetting justice. In the name of righteousness, people strike at others without knowing, without seeing the harm they cause. The statue of Themis once stood for true justice — the scales of fairness, the sword of strength, the blindfold of impartiality. But now, we tear them from her hands. The sword stolen, the scales shattered, the blindfold still covering eyes that refuse to see. Even as she is destroyed, Themis faces forward, silently enduring. Is this the justice we want? A world where suspicion alone invites destruction? A world where no one can stand again once they fall? We must face what we are becoming.
