This week carries a special importance to me. On March 1st, 1961, President Kennedy established the @PeaceCorps by executive order. Seven years later, I immigrated to the United States and was recruited to work as a language instructor for the Corps. #PeaceCorpsWeek

With this being Peace Corps week, I wanted to take a moment to recognize the selfless men and women working throughout the world to help increase literacy, reduce diseases, and increase economic prosperity worldwide. #PeaceCorpsWeek

Not many know this about me, but when I was a young adult, I served in the Peace Corps. Stationed in American Samoa, I worked with the population on tactics to mitigate diseases as well as general reproductive health. #PeaceCorpsWeek
