We've taken this approach with the upcoming olc::PixelGameEngine v3. It WILL upset a small minority of the users of the existing engine but I decided we had to reduce development effort for everyone else. Time will tell lol :D

Yeah I found a great header that lets me render pixels in C without worrying about the platform which is nice, and it made me learn some stuff like how transparency blending works. Javidx9's PixelGameEngine is really good for that kind of experimental stuff.

#100DaysOfCode Day 41. Going to work on porting over a long incomplete asteroids clone from SmileBasic. Want to make it work with both SDL2 and PixelGameEngine as a step to making a GameJam base code. Currently have linker errors.

The PC project lasted about 2 weeks and used the OneLoneCoder PixelGameEngine 1.2. It was scrapped when the project was moved to the ZX Spectrum
