When I was scouting and writing recs, had a guy get rained out spraying round up and verdict. I said just respray it with round up and we will catch whatever’s left preemergence. Well he relayed that to the sprayer guy as spray it again with verdict. 20oz verdict on beans. lol

As we approach the growing season in the Upper Midwest 🇺🇸, I’m happy to share our latest #WiscWeeds paper: "Evaluation of single vs. multiple site-of-action PRE herbicides for waterhemp and giant ragweed control in Wisconsin #soybean.” ✅Main takeaway: Don’t rely on a single site of action (SOA). Preemergence herbicide (PRE) programs with 2–3 SOAs delivered better and more consistent early season weed control results. For mixed infestations of #waterhemp (Amaranthus tuberculatus) and giant #ragweed (Ambrosia trifida), consider PRE programs containing herbicides from Groups 2 14 5 and/or 15. Also worth noting: #Amaranthus species are becoming increasingly problematic across South America; our findings may help inform research and management strategies for colleagues across the region. Strong preemergence herbicide programs are key to good yields. 1. Plots with no residual herbicides (red boxes) 2. Residual herbicide programs with multiple SOA groups (blue boxes) could improve weed control (yellow boxes= 1 SOA).
