Just implemented AI-driven predictive maintenance in our industrial control systems. Reduced downtime by 20% and caught issues before they became critical. AI isn't just hype; it's a game-changer for efficiency and reliability. #IndustrialAI#PredictiveMaintenance
Most equipment failures leave clues long before downtime occurs.
AI can analyze maintenance records and sensor data to identify recurring failure patterns early, helping teams prevent breakdowns instead of reacting to them. ⚙️📈

A note for battery digital twin and BMS analytics vendors:
Your customers (EV OEMs, battery pack integrators, second-life storage operators) need you to estimate state of health, predict remaining useful life, and flag failure precursors. To do that well, your models need to be robust across chemistries your customers don't have lab data for yet.
That's the synthetic data use case in this space — pre-train on calibrated synthetic data covering chemistries your customer hasn't deployed, then fine-tune on their real operational telemetry.
MAT-001 is designed for this:
→ 10 chemistry families with full per-cycle telemetry → Multi-table relational schema (materials → cycles → degradation → thermal events → manufacturing → pack-level aggregates) — joins for sequence modeling are natural → Calibrated against DOE, UL9540A, peer-reviewed sources rather than generated freehand → Sample is 88,500 rows, full product is ~29M rows
Sample on Hugging Face (CC-BY-NC, free for research and pre-training evaluation): huggingface.co/datasets/xper…
If you're building Twaice/Voltaiq/Element-Energy style analytics or NREL-aligned digital twin infrastructure, this could be a useful pre-training corpus before customer data flows in.

Most fleets are still reacting. A truck goes down, a driver is stranded, the shop scrambles. The ops teams winning today are the ones who see it coming with enough time to do something about it.

Unplanned downtime is expensive. Industrial IoT enables predictive maintenance by monitoring vibration, temperature, and machine health before failure occurs. #IoT#Manufacturing#PredictiveMaintenance
Building an Electrical Maintenance Program is easy. Building one that delivers real value is much harder.
Infrared and ultrasound inspections are widely used to identify electrical issues before they lead to failures, downtime, or safety incidents. But building an Electrical Maintenance Program (EMP) that is both effective and standards-compliant requires more than technology alone.
Join Tim Rohrer, Founder & CEO of Exiscan™, Senior Member of IEEE IAS, and a long-time contributor to electrical safety and maintenance standards, for a live webinar on electrical reliability, safety, and inspection best practices.
You'll learn:
✔️ The role of IR and ultrasound in electrical reliability and safety
✔️ Key considerations for Electrical Maintenance Programs (EMP)
✔️ Insights from NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B
✔️ Strategies for safer and more efficient inspections

#ThrowbackThursday to the 2022 VIATC Proceedings and Robert J. Sayer, PE’s paper, “The Use and Abuse of the Single Degree-of-Freedom Vibration Model.”
Bob’s paper is a great reminder that simple models can teach powerful fundamentals — but real machines and structures are rarely simple. From modal participation to 2-degree-of-freedom systems and finite element analysis, the paper walks through why understanding the limitations of a model is just as important as knowing how to use it.
This is exactly the kind of technical depth Vibration Institute members can access through conference proceedings and member resources throughout the year.
And there’s more to come: Bob Sayer will be leading the pre-conference workshop “Natural Frequency Testing of Structures, Rotors, and Foundations” at VIATC 2026 in Fort Worth.
Explore member resources, revisit the proceedings, and make plans to join us August 5–7, with pre-conference workshops beginning August 4.
