Everyone talks about inflation… rising prices, increasing expenses, and shrinking purchasing power. But the real crisis is something far more dangerous — the slow poison on our plates.
As a Managing Director working to bring pure mustard oil and spices to the market, I have witnessed a ground reality that is deeply alarming. What appears to be a normal grocery shelf to a consumer has actually become a battlefield of compromise. Products today are no longer defined by their purity or authenticity, but by cost-cutting, adulteration, and aggressive marketing.
The market is flooded with palm oil blends, synthetic additives, artificial colors, and low-quality substitutes. These are cleverly hidden behind glossy packaging, attractive branding, and labels that create a false sense of trust. On paper, many of these products appear compliant — carrying licenses and certifications — but the ground reality often tells a completely different story.
This is not just a quality issue.
This is a systemic failure.
This is not just about profit or competition.
This is about responsibility — towards every family that places its trust in what they buy, and every child who consumes it without question.
When I see small children consuming these products, one question hits hard — what are we really feeding them? Their bodies are still developing, their immunity still forming, and yet they are being exposed to food that may have long-term consequences we don’t fully understand.
The most painful part is this — even after spending significant money, people are still unable to get pure and genuine products. Consumers are willing to pay for quality, they are actively searching for safer options, but somewhere in the system, they end up getting trapped. Misleading claims, lack of transparency, and weak monitoring make it extremely difficult for an average buyer to distinguish between what is real and what is just well-packaged deception.
This creates a dangerous illusion — where people believe they are making the right and healthy choice, while in reality, they are unknowingly compromising their health.
Pure food is not a luxury.
It is not a premium option.
It is a basic human right.
It is time to change our mindset — as an industry and as a nation. Compliance on paper is not enough. Certifications without accountability have no real value. What we need are strict, transparent, and consistent ground-level quality checks — systems that don’t just exist, but actually function. Regulations that are not just written, but properly enforced.
Manufacturers must rise above profit and take responsibility. Distributors must prioritize integrity over margins. And regulatory bodies must ensure that trust is not only built, but also protected.
Because in the end, this is not about products — this is about people.
It is time we stop treating food as just another commodity. It directly impacts public health, future generations, and the overall well-being of our society.
Enough is enough.
It’s time to move from a profit-first mindset to a health-first approach.
It’s time to demand transparency, accountability, and authenticity.
Let’s not normalize adulteration.
Let’s not accept compromise as the standard.
Let’s build a truly
