Nice work from my former colleague Christina in the @ButlerLabUCSB! Tistrellabactins have three different chelating groups (graminine, OHAsp, hydroxamate). I think the only other "tribrid" peptide siderophores are the pyoverdines. Interesting complexity! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.102…

Great to welcome Rolf Kümmerli to Warwick to talk about his group's work on ecology of #Pseudomonas pyoverdines. Inspired by diverse pvd / receptor profiles seen in natural isolates, they're exploring whether some pvds could be used to inhibit pathogens by locking away iron.

Rapid identification of pyoverdines of fluorescent Pseudomonas spp. by UHPLC-IM-MS

If you will use a plate reader the effects of the medium and the pyoverdines/cyanines are even worse. The only good use for blue/cyan in Pseudomonas is for a constant expression to find/segment cells. Tried all of that been there already... 2/2

P. aeruginosa produces pyocyanins and pyoverdines, explaining the green. These are grown in a transparent media, so they look even more green than in LB 🙂
