Iirc they got caught out stockpilling it all in a warehouse and yet to this day I see products with the Redcycle logo. Same shit as any ecofriendly drive driven by the private sector.

Oh yeah 100% recycling is complicated and no matter how many rules and regs there are for the consumer it means nothing if the capability isnt there. Look up Redcycle, which for years claimed to be recycling soft plastics.

There's a smell of REDcycle all over Re-Turn. But sure that would never happen here, right?

Australia is set to introduce a new soft plastics recycling initiative, nearly three years after the collapse of the national REDCycle program, which failed to manage the country’s growing plastic waste problem. Read More Click on the link in the comment

After the collapse of the national soft plastics collection and recycling program REDCycle, the consumer regulator is set to greenlight an industry-led replacement scheme – but critics say it will pass costs on to consumers theguardian.com/environment/… #waste #packaging

“Plastic-wrapped chocolate bars, two-minute noodles and breakfast cereals could all become more expensive under an Australia-wide recycling scheme likely to win approval. “The competition watchdog on Monday signalled it wanted to green-light the creation of a voluntary, industry-led scheme to collect and recycle soft plastic packaging from consumers. “Backed by major supermarkets and food giants Mars and Nestle, the scheme would succeed REDcycle, which collapsed in 2022 with an estimated 11,000 tonnes of stockpiled soft plastic strewn across dozens of depots.” michaelwest.com.au/news/rebo…

We would have done this through our recycling bins anyway. Where we still put our milk cartons. This is one of the biggest scams going. It actually looks like Australia's REDcycle scandal. uow.edu.au/the-stand/2022/th…
The Irish public has collectively returned more than 1.6 billion bottles and cans through the Deposit Return Scheme since it kicked off at the beginning of last year. jrnl.ie/6773768

Yea a couple of years ago a much touted plastic recycling thing in Australia went up in flames - it was called something like redcycle

And this is just one seat? We need to stop this silly business. Corflute is recyclable in theory but it's hard to trust the practise after narrowing-down of kerbside plastic recyling and the collapse of RedCycle.
This is the waste of corflutes used at polling booths, and more to come apparently by failed Liberal candidate in Paterson (pictured) . The waste is astronomical this election. Libs spent a small fortune when people are going without meals. On bloody signs. There must be limits!

I wouldn't dog them for recycling. The scheme seems to work. Better than going down in flames like REDcycle

Thanks @JayWeatherill @alpsa @PMalinauskasMP (Though I DO THINK we're a coupla decades behind and should get a solid move on, on this and #BanPlastics, making @Coles & @woolworths & wrapper-makers at a minimum FIX RedCycle) #AUSPOL

In the past 30 days, over 75% of South Australia’s energy came from renewables, an incredible leap from 0% not long ago. The graph below showing this transition is fascinating. Amazingly, some reading this will be furious about it.
