Days ahead of Eid al-Adha or Bakrid, a Hindu organisation based in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, has appealed to the country's Muslim community to sacrifice clay models of goats instead of the animals as an eco-friendly measure. The head of the organisation, Sanskriti Bachao Manch, also wrote a letter to several Muslim religious leaders, highlighting that if Hindu festivals such as Holi, Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi could be celebrated in an eco-friendly manner, then should be Bakrid. The effort, however, didn't sit well with Syed Kaab Rashidi, legal advisor of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, UP.
