"Trump admin official Lindsey Halligan on Newsmax: "While slavery is obviously a horrible aspect of our nation's history, you can't really talk about slavery honestly unless you also talk about hope and progress. We need to stop focusing so much on the lack of progress."
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick: โHas she ever been to the museum? The experience of the Smithsonian Museum of African American History is to descend first into the horrors of slavery, then the building opens up into a grand hall after the Civil War and you walk upwards towards progress and a better future.โ
โฆ Trump threatened Colorado if they refuse to release Mike Lindell associate Tina Peters from her 9-year prison sentence: โFREE TINA PETERS, a brave and innocent Patriot who has been tortured by Crooked Colorado politicians, including the big Mail-In Ballot supporting the governor of the State. Let Tina Peters out of jail, RIGHT NOW. She did nothing wrong, except catching the Democrats cheat in the Election. She is an old woman, and very sick. If she is not released, I am going to take harsh measures!!!โ
โฆ Punchbowl: โGOP Rep. Chip Roy will run for AG of Texas, ending his career in the House after three terms. Roy, often a nuisance to House Republican leadership, is joining a primary to replace Ken Paxton, who is challenging Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) for Senate.โ
โฆ Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Marcus Lemonis has decided to go with a full MAGA rebrand after bankruptcy, claiming that the company intends to try to open stores again but wonโt in CA because the state isnโt business friendly. Newsom responded with this: โAfter their bankruptcy and closure of every store, like most Americans, we thought Bed, Bath & Beyond no longer existed. We wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again as they try to open a 2nd store.โ
Lemonis then ran to Hannityโs Fox show to attack Newsom again: โWhat I found out this afternoon was that Gov Newsom had enough time to respond to a tweet to remind everyone in America that in 2023 the company went out of business. Now we're trying to make a comeback, and I would think that a governor would want to attract investment and attract capital into the state. In fact, he did the opposite; he rejected it."
Obviously he doesnโt want business from Democrats anywhere in the country. Great business model.
Former Speaker and CA Rep. Kevin McCarthy then went on CNN: "We have a governor who spends more time on this instead of trying to encourage Bed Bath & Beyond to move back to California."
Newsom responded: โNext, heโs going to announce that Blockbuster wants to move back to California too.โ
