Have you previously been a patient on an #inpatient#psychiatricward in the UK and experienced, or witnessed restrictive practice? We’re conducting interviews to understand the impact this has on psychological safety from the perspective of ex-service users. See details below!
ALT Have you previously been a patient on an inpatient psychiatric ward in the UK? Have you had direct experience of restrictive practice, or witnessed it while you were on the ward? Then we’d be interested to hear about your experience.
For the current study, restrictive practice is:
• Being prevented from entering certain areas of living space and segregation
• Locked doors on the wards
• Seclusion (being moved to a separate room away from others for a period of time)
• Manual and mechanical restraint
• Rapid tranquilisation
• Coercion and compulsion related to treatment
• Constant observation
We would like to understand the impact of restrictive practice on service users’ psychological safety, as well as hearing what service users think could be done to make the experience safer.
Participants are asked to complete a 60-minute online interview and will receive a £30 voucher.
