Grateful and honored to be introduced by Susan Christoffersen, Dean of the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), to moderate a discussion with leaders on the future of AI and finance. As a first-generation university graduate — and a proud alum of the University of Toronto (a top 20 school globally) — this was a moment. As a high school student applying to the University of Toronto (UofT), I didn’t even know what a Dean was. 🤔 As a first-year undergrad student at UofT, applying and getting in to the Bachelor of Commerce program at Rotman was tough because, at the time, only 300 students were admitted annually! First year undergraduate studies were very hard, a significant learning curve and designed to sink you… 🤣 As a student, being introduced by the Dean is something you imagine, not something that actually happens. Here, years later, it manifested. A reminder that whether it’s the small or big moments, anything is possible! There’s something special about returning to a place that shaped a part of who you are. Recently, I had the honor of returning to my alma mater, the University of Toronto (UofT), for the installation of Dr. Melanie Woodin as the university’s 17th President. It was inspiring to witness a new chapter of leadership; one built on learning, community, and purpose. 💙 Walking through campus reminded me that where we come from isn’t defined by where we’re born, but by the people, experiences, and moments that shape us throughout our lives. Every stage, every connection, every lesson matters. Returning to UofT was more than a visit.
