Today is Rowan’s Law Day. Rowan Stringer was a young athlete who died from second impact syndrome. Enacted in 2018, the law raises awareness about concussion safety and sets out rules for prevention, detection & management in youth sports. #rowanslawday #rowanstringer

Her name is #RowanStringer and in her memory many lives have no doubt been saved with the passing of @RowansLaw which educates on how to prevent, identify & manage #concussions in Ontario, Canada. A concussion is a brain injury, know what to look for, and take the time to heal.

Nine years on.
Tragically this is the tale of an intelligent 17-year-old who lost her life through a lack of education around brain injury and a misplaced bravado, choosing to play despite suffering a concussion four days earlier and hiding her symptoms.
