Hide a column from generic table access with
ALTER TABLE ... MODIFY col INVISIBLE
The database will then omit it from
SELECT *
DESCRIBE
%ROWTYPE vars
INSERT INTO with no column list
This can be useful for
Deprecating columns
New cols in apps with bad practices like SELECT *
ALT Invisible columns - Hide columns from generic access. Example of how to do this and how it affects INSERT & SELECT *
